How the MMO finder works
The quiz asks up to 13 questions and ranks 159 fully profiled MMORPGs by how well each fits your answers. Every result shows why it matches and the concerns it raises — both come from the same checks, so a concern is a real mismatch in the data, not marketing copy. Games with an announced shutdown are flagged on the card.

▸How does the MMO quiz choose games?
Each answer becomes a weighted check against a game's database profile — PvE/PvP focus, intensity, grind, combat style, payment model, monetization, era and platform. A game's match percentage is how many of those checks it passes, weighted by importance, across 159 fully profiled MMORPGs.
▸Does popularity or player count affect the results?
No. Player counts and activity data are never an input to the quiz, and no game pays for placement — the ranking comes from your answers and the profile data only. Answering “Veteran” pushes the best-known games down so lesser-known fits surface first.
▸What if I skip a question?
Skipped questions are left out entirely and never penalize a game, so an 80% match from four answers means the same as an 80% match from nine. Dealbreakers are the exception: they are hard exclusions, but only when the data affirmatively shows the thing you ruled out.
▸Can I find MMOs similar to one I already play?
Yes — pick “Games like…” in the finder, or open a ready-made list such as the ones linked on this page. Similarity compares gameplay profiles, monetization and world design, not popularity.
