RuneScape: Dragonwilds1.0 Launch

Jagex's RuneScape-universe survival game leaves Early Access, launching simultaneously on PC, PS5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2 with the Scorned Wilderness update included and day-one Game Pass availability. Jagex confirmed the price stays at $29.99 / £24.99 after 1.0.

Guild Wars 2Visions of Eternity: Code of Creation

The last of the expansion's three 2026 updates and the story's finale: the Leyspring Hollows zone, the ten-player Nexus of Eternity raid, the Solitary Throne fractal, a new Convergence, the Wages of Stars legendary sword, and a new Wizard's Vault season. Challenge modes follow on September 29 and the legendary raid difficulty on October 13.

Two-day open server-load test on Steam and PURPLE — no keys, invites or registration; pre-download from September 16. Level cap 37, shop and trading disabled, and all progress is wiped at the end of Day 2 (nothing carries into Advance Access or launch).

Beta opens for owners of the Skyborne Epic Pack or Warcraft Forever Collection pre-purchase packs — the only route in — and runs into late October ahead of the November 4 launch; early name reservation follows October 27–November 3.

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S release with console-tailored UI and controls, day-one Game Pass availability, and a single-player mode arriving the same day. Deluxe and Ultimate edition buyers get in five days early, on September 17.

Five days of pre-launch access for Founder's Pack buyers (September 30 – October 4), ahead of the free-to-play global launch on October 5. Every Founder's Pack now also includes a 30-day membership.

The indie EverQuest-like opens its doors on October 1 at 09:00 Bahrain time (02:00 Eastern / 23:00 Pacific the night before) through the studio's own launcher, with all of Module 1: Descent into the Deep, four starting locations, and a $15/month subscription with no box price. The team confirmed on August 18 that the date is on track; the closed beta ends September 24.

Aion 2Global Launch (PC)

Worldwide free-to-play PC launch on Steam and NC's PURPLE launcher, following the November 2025 Korean release. NC named the day with a Global Release Date Trailer at gamescom Opening Night Live; Founder's Pack advance access runs from September 30, and an open Launch Scale Test precedes it on September 17–18.

The Elder Scrolls OnlineSeason Two

The second season of ESO's seasonal model: Moon Hunter Keep and March of Sacrifices reworked as solo dungeons, Tamriel Tome challenges for more playstyles, and the Wolfhunter, Greymoor and Markarth DLCs folded into the base game. Update 51, carrying most of the season's systems, lands first on September 28 (PC/Mac); the Crimson Veldt trial and the next class-and-combat refresh moved to 2027 with Update 52.

World of Warcraft: ForeverLaunch

Launch of Blizzard's Classic+ — a permanent level-60 alternate timeline of vanilla Azeroth with three new zones, overhauled existing ones, nine new dungeons, 10- and 20-player raids, 1,000+ quests, a new battleground, and the Skyborne race. Included with any active WoW subscription or game time.

Amazon Games is sunsetting New World: Aeternum. The title was delisted January 15, 2026, in-game purchases (Marks of Fortune) end July 20, 2026, and the servers are permanently taken offline on January 31, 2027. The extended Nighthaven season runs until shutdown.

Q3 roadmap headliner: the Warpweaver class (Time Manager and Spatial Swordsman styles) plus Base Camp, a rebuilt onboarding express that walks new and returning players to item level 1700. Amazon has still not named a September day — its August 31 team update only moves the second server-merge phase to September 9. Amazon Game Studios hands Lost Ark's Western service to Smilegate in early 2027.

Throne and LibertyColossus Vegamor update

Per the Frozen Divide roadmap: a new Colossus encounter (Vegamor) that raises the equipment item-level cap and improves drop rates for gear that can reach it; Castle Siege and Tax Delivery improvements were bundled with it in the original August slot. Rescheduled to the end of September while Amazon prepares to hand Western live operations to NC in Q4 2026.

ArcheAge ChroniclesSteam Early Access

The ArcheAge successor's first public release is Steam Early Access in Q4 2026 — reframed from a full launch in Kakao Games' Q2 2026 earnings (August 11), with publishing reverting to XL Games. Originally targeted at 2025, moved to 2026 in Kakao's Q3 2024 report. The Steam page still lists 'To be announced'; a US/Canada network test on Steam runs September 12–13.

EVE OnlineTheaters of War: second expansion

The second of three planned expansions in the Theaters of War saga, continuing the Military Campaigns arc that Cradle of War opened on June 9. CCP's 2026 roadmap commits to the year; as of September 11 no name or window has been announced and the official news feed carries only Cradle of War content.

The Lord of the Rings OnlineThe Wolves of Mordor expansion

Standing Stone Games' next expansion heads into eastern Mordor — three new regions, Sauron's past as the Lord of Wolves, a housing overhaul and a new survival-style progression system for the new zones. Announced at Gen Con on July 31; SSG's Q3 letter points at autumn with no date named.

EVE VanguardPersistent Alpha

A persistent 24/7 live Alpha planned for November 2026 via the EVE Launcher on PC, following the time-boxed "Operation Avalon" playtest (July 7–20, 2026). Fenris Creations (CCP Games, renamed after its May 2026 management buyout) has named no day inside the window, and the Steam Early Access release that once targeted summer 2026 has no new date.

Final Fantasy XIVEvercold (8.0 Expansion)

Revealed at the Anaheim Fan Festival in April 2026: the Fourth Reflection, Reborn and Evolved job styles, and a January 2027 target. The official Evercold site still lists January 2027 with no exact day.

Scars of HonorSteam Early Access

Beast Burst's WoW-style free-to-play MMORPG. The studio originally aimed for Early Access in late 2026 and now calls 2027 the realistic target, refusing to commit to a date until the game is ready. The spring 2026 Steam playtest (April 30 – May 11) drew 120,000+ players; public tests now give way to the invite-based Firstwatch advisory programme announced August 24.

The Elder Scrolls OnlineUpdate 52

Game Director Nick Giacomini's July 30 letter moved Update 52 into January 2027 under a 'quality over calendar dates' philosophy; the Crimson Veldt trial (mounted combat) and the next class-and-combat refresh move into 2027 with it.

Blizzard's stated post-launch cadence: a first content update in March 2027, then updates roughly every four months, with larger free expansions planned annually — no exact date yet.

Chrono OdysseyGlobal Launch

UE5 action MMO launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series. Pushed out of 2026 after closed-beta feedback showed the game needed more development time, then one more quarter to Q2 2027 in Kakao Games' August 2026 earnings call, which slots ArcheAge S: Straits of Freedom into the same quarter.

ArcheAge S: Strait of FreedomGlobal launch on Steam

Kakao Games and XLGAMES target a Q2 2027 global launch on PC, Steam-first — narrowed from the plain '2027' given when the game was announced with the publishing agreement on August 3, 2026. The window arrived with the official BI and key visual on September 7, 2026; a developer-preview video with the first in-game footage is promised for later in September. Business model and access details are unannounced, and no Steam store page has surfaced yet. Development is due to move from XLGAMES to Align Studio, a new Kakao Games-funded studio headed by Kim Kyung-tae, when the business-transfer deal disclosed on September 8, 2026 completes on October 27, 2026.

The first public test of ArenaNet's Unreal Engine 5 prequel, targeted for fall 2027. Newsletter signup on the official site offers a chance to join; no exact date has been set.
