Andrew Kirmse
Fresh out of MIT, Kirmse and his brother Chris built Meridian 59 — the first 3D graphical MMORPG — in their parents' Virginia basement, co-founding Archetype Interactive to ship it in 1996. He later programmed graphics at LucasArts, managed Google Earth, helped launch Google Maps and founded Google Now; the brothers regained and open-sourced Meridian 59 in 2012.
