Notes & links

Console population is large and not reflected in Steam numbers. Since Season Zero (April 2026), ZeniMax replaced the annual paid-chapter cadence with free quarterly "Seasons" content for base-game owners, monetized via a new "Tamriel Tomes" battle-pass system and "Trade Bars" currency; the base game is still a required purchase, so the buy-to-play-plus-sub model itself is unchanged.
