The best crafting & economy mmorpgs in 2026

In most MMOs crafting is a side activity; in the games here it's a career. Every entry scores 4 or 5 on crafting depth, but the list really splits by what crafting is for. In player-economy games (Albion Online, EVE, Ultima Online) crafters are the economy — nearly everything anyone uses was made by a player, and market mastery is the endgame. In craft-as-gameplay titles (Final Fantasy XIV's full crafter classes, Project: Gorgon's gloriously weird skill web) the making itself is the fun, markets optional.

Both kinds share a trait the rest of the genre lacks: a way to matter to other players without ever raiding or dueling. Some of the strongest crafting cultures live in games nobody puts on general top-tens — A Tale in the Desert has no combat at all — and pairing this list with the sandbox and housing hubs finds those corners fast.
