Housing is the feature MMO players ask for loudest and get least. This list covers every game in our database with genuine personal housing — instanced homes or open-world plots — and skips games where "housing" means a guild hall you'll never control. The fact line under each entry says which type you're getting, because the difference matters: open-world plots (Ultima Online's twenty-five-year-old neighborhoods) make housing part of the world; instanced homes (Final Fantasy XIV's wards, EverQuest II's legendary decorator toolkit) trade that presence for space and freedom.
It's a list of extremes: some of the genre's oldest games have the best housing because it accreted decades of furniture, and some of the newest (Palia, BitCraft) are built around it entirely. If decorating is your endgame, EverQuest II remains the quiet champion nobody talks about.
